Research Technician

About the role

We wish to attract a research technician to help in the diagnosis of motile ciliopathies. This will be done using state-of-the-art techniques, including immuno-histochemistry, light and electron microscopy, stem cell culture and nitric oxide measurements. A background in cilia research, or any of the techniques above is desirable. Advanced training in the diagnosis of PCD will be delivered by the senior members of the PCD team.

About you

We wish to appoint an excellent research technician to work on methods to improve PCD diagnosis. In addition to helping the day-to-day running of the PCD diagnostic service, you will conduct many of the laboratory-based tests, be responsible for recording data and preparing reports. You will have previous experience of immuno-histochemistry, cell culture and microscopy with a good working knowledge of health and safety and GLP regulations.
