What’s the job? 

As a Solution Architect specialising in web, application, and integration solutions, you will be instrumental in crafting and refining scalable technology systems that drive innovation and meet our business objectives. Your focus will be on designing high-quality, user-centred solutions for LMS, business applications, and customer-facing platforms. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that our technology solutions are effective, efficient, and aligned with user needs and business goals. 

Day-to-day accountabilities: 

The Solution Architect is responsible for maturing business capabilities by influencing the digital solutions and challenging the status quo. Design and implement scalable and user-centred solutions for web, application, and integration platforms. Assess and recommend emerging technologies to enhance business applications and educational technology (Edtech). Ensure security by design and design principles are integrated into all architectural solutions. Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and advocate for technology solutions that drive customer satisfaction. 

Accountabilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Solution Design and Implementation: Champion architecture principles for scalable and secure web and application solutions, including business applications and LMS. 
  • Technology Evaluation and Selection: Evaluate new technologies and platforms to ultimately improve the digital experience, stability and efficiency of our digital landscape. 
  • Governance and Best Practices: Ensure that security by design principles and architecture principles are applied to all solutions. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with product, technology and business leadership to design end-to-end solutions that enhance student, staff and academic experiences.

This is a full-time permanent position with flexibility to work from home or from a campus near you. 

Who you are 

You are a strategic thinker with over 10 years of experience in web and application implementation, with a strong focus on solution architecture. You have a proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale solutions and possess expertise in a variety of platforms and technologies. 

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in web and application development platforms, AI, integration tools, and Edtech solutions.  
  • Architecture Knowledge: Deep understanding of microservices architecture, security configurations, and integrated hybrid architectures. Familiarity with common architecture frameworks. Experience gathering technical requirements, solutioning and producing quality technical designs. 
  • Communication: Excellent skills in conveying complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical abilities with a record of delivering innovative solutions.
