The Department of English, Creative Writing, and Film is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (B) in English Literature to join our outstanding team as the discipline enters the next phase of its long history at Adelaide. 

The successful candidate will have a significant research track record in some aspect of the modern history of the novel and the proven ability to teach across a spectrum of undergraduate courses. An ability to teach Australian and American literature is desirable but not essential. The successful applicant will also be expected to supervise higher-degree research students and to shoulder administrative duties within the Department as required.

The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance, and generate publications of international standard

To be successful you will need: 

• A PhD in English;
• Expertise in some aspect of the modern history of the novel;
• A strong academic record in teaching and research;
• A record of scholarly work and publication of international quality, demonstrating potential to become a significant contributor in their field;
• Experience of and a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, program development and academic innovation;
• Experience supervising graduate research students;
• Good administrative, organisational, teamwork and communication skills
