Department
Description
The Department of Computing and New Media Technologies provides unique opportunities through
three undergraduate programs: Computer Information Systems, Web Development, and Applied
Computing. Additionally, the department offers master’s degrees in Data Science, Cybersecurity,
and Information Technology Management through collaboration with the UW System Extended
Campus and other comprehensive campuses. In Computing and New Media Technologies, students

Position Summary
This is a tenure-track, nine-month faculty position in the Department of Computing and New Media
Technologies at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point involving teaching core and advanced
undergraduate courses in Applied Computing, Computer Information Systems, and/or Web
Development.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Cybersecurity, including information security and information assurance
• Artificial intelligence and data science
• Computer networking and server administration, including cloud infrastructure and
DevOps/DevSecOps
There may be future opportunities to teach courses at the graduate level in Cybersecurity, Data
Science, and IT Management. The candidate is expected to demonstrate professional growth, an

active research agenda, and university/professional service commensurate with a teaching-oriented
department.
Required
Qualifications
• Demonstrated interest in and commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching
• Demonstrated experience in and commitment to the defined specialty areas, as outlined
above
• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely
related field. Candidates with a Master's degree should also have five years of professional
experience in one or more of the related fields.

• Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field
• Experience in graduate teaching
• Professional certifications relevant to the candidate’s field of specialty

This is a tenure-track, academic year based faculty position. Salary will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience.
