Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

UC Business School | Te Kura Umanga, University of Canterbury, invites applications for a part-time, 6-month term Postdoctoral Fellow position in Accounting, from July to December, 2024.

• Support the Head of Department with qualitative management accounting research

The position involves working with the Head of Department on research to be published in high-quality journals.

Mōu | Who You Are

You have a PhD in Accounting with an aim to build an international reputation in Management Accounting. Candidates should be able to demonstrate high level written and oral communication skills. Successful candidates should have the potential to publish in high-quality, internationally recognised academic journals. To be successful in this position you will ideally have the following:

• a PhD in relevant field, or a related discipline / or Master's degree, if applying for Research Associate
• a strong research background
• strong quantitative and data analysis skills
• a publication track record as well as experience with preparation and delivery of quality oral presentations to a wide range of audiences, is essential
• a proven ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts (both orally and in writing) to a wide variety or groups including scientific and non-scientific audiences
• the ability to work creatively and independently.

What we offer

Postdoc salary $37.50 per hour plus 8% holiday pay = $40.50 per hour.

Please Note: Candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant Doctoral qualification, will also be considered. Upon appointment, if the Doctoral qualification is yet to be awarded, the title of Research Associate will be applied, and the salary will reflect the Research Associate salary scale.

Appointable salary for a Post Doctoral Fellow is $79,000 (pa)

Appointable salary range for a Research Associate is $58,660.66-$68,437.44 (pa)
