Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Epsom College Tokyo is a new British international preparatory school scheduled to open in central Tokyo in Autumn 2027. The school will initially welcome pupils from EYFS to Year 4 and will expand progressively to Year 6.
The school forms part of the wider EDUC8 Group together with Epsom College UK and Epsom College Malaysia, delivering a British curriculum within an international educational environment.
As part of the founding phase of the school, we are recruiting teachers and educational support staff who are interested in contributing to the establishment and development of a new international school community in Japan.
Work content and job description
The successful candidates will join the founding team of Epsom College Tokyo and contribute to the establishment and operation of a new British international preparatory school in central Tokyo.
Teaching staff will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons in accordance with the British National Curriculum, supporting pupils’ academic and pastoral development, and contributing to the wider life of the school community.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons appropriate to the relevant year group or subject area
- Supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and language development
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Contributing to curriculum development, school events, enrichment activities, and pre-opening preparations
- Working collaboratively within an international and bilingual educational environment
Bilingual Teaching Assistants will support classroom learning, communication with Japanese-speaking families, and pupils transitioning into English-medium education.
