College Profile: In 2009 the foundation for the first polytechnic in Jajpur district at JAJPUR ROAD was laid in the industrial hub of India in the state of Odisha surrounded with around 15 nos. of Steel plants such as TATA Steel, Jindal Steel, Mesco Steel, Nilanchal Ispat Nigam Ltd, Maithan Ispat, Rohit Steel etc. And other Industries like Emami Cement Ltd, JSW Cement & many more. The great need of a skill development institute was felt and considering this St Xavier’s Group of Institutions took an initiative and decided to start a polytechnic by noticing the technical inconvenience caused to the students of Odisha and nearby states and Jajpur Road, Jajpur in particular. Having rich experience and success in the field of education past years, the management started its first Polytechnic in the name of KALINGA INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY that has fulfilled a long felt need for higher technical education in this area
