Position Summary
AUIB is seeking a motivated and student-focused Pharmacy Teaching Assistant to support the College of Pharmacy’s mission of delivering world-class pharmacy education. In this vital role, the Pharmacy Teaching Assistant will provide academic support to students, assist faculty in course delivery, supervise practicum experiences (IPPEs) in coordination with clinical coordinators, and contribute to the overall academic and extracurricular activities of the College. Key Responsibilities
- Student Academic Support: Provide academic assistance during lectures, labs, study groups, and review sessions to enhance learning and performance.
- Faculty Support: Assist faculty in preparing and delivering course materials, ensuring smooth coordination of teaching activities.
- Assessment and Feedback: Support grading processes and provide timely, accurate feedback to students.
- IPPE Supervision: Collaborate with clinical coordinators to supervise students during their Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs), ensuring compliance with objectives and professionalism standards.
- College Support: Act as a student-faculty liaison and assist in college events, initiatives, and tasks assigned by the Dean or Head of Department.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Education: Holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from a reputable college or university.
- Experience: 1-2 years of relevant academic or professional experience (teaching, clinical, or practicum supervision preferred).
- Practicum Engagement: Familiarity with experiential pharmacy education and practicum supervision.
- Skills: Strong communication skills in English (written and oral), with effective organizational, interpersonal, and time management abilities.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate with faculty, clinical coordinators, and students while fostering a supportive learning environment.
Education and Experience
- Required Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm).
- Years of Relevant Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in academic or professional pharmacy-related roles.
- Specific Skills or Expertise: Familiarity with course and practicum supervision, grading, and LMS management.
