Teaching Assistant (Mathematics - HS1501)
Job Description
The Department of Mathematics at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the full time position of Teaching Assistant. The appointment will be on a contract basis, renewable based on performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct tutorial classes (10 - 12 hours per week during term time) primarily for the course HS1501 Artificial Intelligence and Society
- Facilitate group discussion in tutorial classes
- Help students with their projects and give constructive feedback
- Hold consultation hours
- Help lecturers prepare course materials
- Invigilate and grade assessments
- Monitor online forum
Qualifications / Discipline:
- Bachelor's (Honors) Degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Computing/Data Science or related areas.
Skills:
- Able to convey information in a clear, concise, and interesting manner.
- Able to work cooperatively as a member of a team and manage groups at the undergraduate level.
- Critical thinking skills; Design thinking skills; Creativity; Technology skills; Knowledge and interest in current affairs related to AI.
Experience:
Teaching experience is preferred.
