As a Senior Manager, you will:
- Be responsible for the strategic design guidance, technical architectural advice and to lead and drive the consolidation of environmental strategies across the range of initiatives and project types across all IPP projects.
- Drive the provision of strategic support and advice on the integration of internal and external standards, legislative requirements, design innovation and exemplar environments.
- Drive sustainable design initiatives relating to environmental sustainable design (ESD), biodiversity enhancement and climate adaptation, in the built and natural environment.
- Lead the strategic architectural design and sustainable built environment vision.
- Drive the stakeholder engagement and consultation process and articulate complex technical information into a concise and unambiguous project brief.
- Assist in conducting feasibilities studies and production of design documents suitable for stakeholder approval and budget estimate pricing, including input into funding proposals.
- Oversee architectural and sustainability design reviews to ensure project compliance with University standards, design direction and alignment with the University strategic direction.
- Influence project designs to ensure innovative and cost-effective solutions that meet stakeholder expectations in accordance will all policies, procedures, regulations and standards.
- Influence the development of asset uplift refurbishment projects to ensure proposals are effectively scoped with existing conditions and potential efficiencies at front of mind.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Proven expertise in the management of significant human and material resources; in addition to in some areas.
- Postgraduate qualifications in architecture (or similar) and extensive relevant experience.
- Extensive, relevant, leadership experience in a design management role with significant recent experience in managing mid-career staff with a recognised ability to coach and mentor staff.
- Extensive experience in recognising and critically analysing client / user requirements and articulating complex technical information from key stakeholders into concise, unambiguous documents.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end project management and design of capital and minor projects (for new build, and also adaptive re-use), with a high level of stakeholder engagement expertise.
- Relevant, recent experience and working knowledge of industry recognised sustainability programmes including Greenstar®, Wells, Passivhaus or LEAD.
- High level design and graphic visualisation skills including experience with Adobe Suite .
- High level Computer Aided Design literacy in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
