Job Duties:
The Department of Accountancy at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse is hiring a 9-month, Assistant Teaching Professor to begin either January 2026 or August 2026. This is a renewable non-tenure track instructional position. Our students’ CPA exam pass rates consistently surpass the national average. Successful candidates will have the ability to teach introductory financial and managerial accounting, and an upper-level accounting course depending on the candidate’s experience and department need. We are hiring one with potential of two candidates from this recruitment.
The College of Business Administration (CBA) at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse includes six academic departments and the Small Business Development Center. The CBA has over 3,000 students enrolled in one of the eight majors offered. It also offers seven minors and participates in the UW System’s online MBA consortium. Fully accredited by AACSB International, the CBA is recognized for high-quality faculty, staff, programs, and students, and maintains strong regional and global partnerships. A robust Assurance of Learning program regularly evaluates undergraduate and graduate outcomes, supporting accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the discipline
- Develops and designs curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instruction
- Contributes to the development of teaching and learning scholarly work including publications and presentations
- Contributes to the strategic development of curriculum and academic content through various mediums to ensure the integrity of the educational mission of the work unit
- Advises students on academic and career direction within a specific field of study
- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including assessment of student performance
- May supervise student employees involved in development or delivery of instruction
Department: Accountancy
Required Qualifications:
One of the following is required:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, CPA license, and significant professional accounting experience.
- Masters degree in accounting.
- MBA with an undergraduate degree in accounting.
- Evidence of the ability to be an effective instructor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching and/or professional experience in accounting
- U.S. CPA license or other relevant certification
