The department offers a B.F.A degree in Theatre Arts (audition/interview only) with concentrations in Acting, Musical Theatre, Physical Theatre, and Design and Production, a B.A. degree in Theatre, and Minors in Dance and Theatre. The program seeks highly qualified individuals who will support the continued advancement of the program and especially the growing Dance Minor.

This highly collaborative department maintains an ambitious production season, in addition to new works and staged readings to connect students with working professionals. Department faculty maintain professional careers in their respective disciplines.

The Department of Theatre seeks applications for a pool of qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate dance courses on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon departmental needs. Successful candidates may be assigned one or more courses in areas including, but not limited to, ballet, modern, jazz, tap, contemporary, musical theatre dance, choreography, movement, dance appreciation, dance history, and other specialized areas consistent with the candidate’s training and professional experience.

To be qualified for this position, applicants must have completed at least 18 graduate credit hours in Dance or a closely related discipline. Possessing a master’s degree, MFA, or other appropriate graduate degree in Dance, Choreography, Performance, or a related field is preferred. Preference also will be given to candidates with successful college-level teaching experience and/or substantial professional experience in dance performance, choreography, movement direction, or dance education.
