The Department of Theatre seeks applications for a pool of qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate theatre courses on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon departmental needs. Successful candidates may be assigned one or more courses in areas including, but not limited to, theatre appreciation, acting, musical theatre, theatre history, dramatic literature, design and production, performance studies, and other specialized areas consistent with the candidate’s training and professional experience.
Adjunct faculty are expected to provide high-quality instruction, maintain regular communication with students, hold appropriate office hours or student consultation opportunities, assess student learning, and participate in departmental activities as appropriate.
To be qualified for this position, applicants must have completed at least 18 graduate credit hours in the Theatre discipline. Possessing a master’s degree, MFA, or other appropriate graduate degree in Theatre or a closely related field is preferred. Preference also will be given to candidates with successful college-level teaching experience and/or substantial professional experience in the theatre industry.
