Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are seeking a Teaching Fellow in Clinical Psychology to join Te Kura Whatu Oho Mauri, the School of Psychological and Social Sciences, on a permanent, part-time basis.
This is a teaching-focused role supporting the delivery of high-quality undergraduate teaching in psychology, with a particular emphasis on clinical psychology and the training of future practitioners. You will contribute to lectures, tutorials, and, where appropriate, laboratory or field-based teaching, as well as undertake assessment and paper administration.
Working within a collaborative academic environment, you will support the development and delivery of teaching materials, contribute to curriculum enhancement, and help maintain high standards of student learning and engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering lectures and supporting teaching activities in psychology
- Conducting marking and assessment of student work
- Supporting paper administration and course coordination
- Assisting in the development and improvement of teaching materials
- Training and supervising sessional teaching staff where required
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative School environment

Ko wai koe? - Who are you?
You will be an experienced educator in psychology with a strong grounding in clinical psychology and a commitment to high-quality teaching.
You will also bring:
- A postgraduate qualification in psychology or equivalent professional experience
- Registration with the New Zealand Psychology Board as a Clinical Psychologist
- Proven experience teaching at tertiary level
- Strong assessment and organisational skills
- The ability to communicate effectively with diverse student groups
- A collaborative approach and commitment to supporting student success
- A PhD in psychology or experience in curriculum development would be advantageous.
