About the role
The Centre for Languages Culture and Communication at Imperial College is looking for a Teaching Fellow in Creative Performance to join our Humanities & Social Sciences (HSS) team. You will join our team of over twenty HSS staff, who work on the Horizons undergraduate courses as well as on our Imperial after:hours Adult Education Programme The role involves teaching primarily undergraduate students from a scientific, technical, or medical background.
What you would be doing
In this role you will devise and deliver face-to-face learning sessions, primarily to undergraduate learners, from a variety of backgrounds.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an individual with proven competence in teaching Creative Performance. You will have experience in teaching this subject at undergraduate level, as well as relevant team working, administration and assessment skills.
To be successful in this post, you will be able to work flexibly as part of a team in an open-minded and cooperative manner, with strong communication and organisational skills. This position will suit an individual with a high level of competency in teaching Creative Performance, with an understanding of the needs of undergraduate STEMB students and be able to travel to West London on a weekly basis to deliver the course on a face-to-face basis.

- This is a part time sessional post, with variable hours agreed annually, based on student demand.
- Teaching takes place on Tuesdays from 4-6pm. Term dates are available here.
- This role requires the post-holder’s attendance on campus. It is expected that the successful candidate will carry out a range of duties including on non-teaching days and in the university vacation period. The hourly rate includes a component to cover course preparation and administration, and as part of this attendance at relevant staff meetings will be required.
- *The agreed hourly rate of pay for undergraduate HSS teaching per teaching hour is £109.34, not including holiday pay. Each ‘teaching hour’ includes an additional allocation for preparation of the course, administration and other necessary non-teaching duties and is equivalent to 3hrs 30mins of work.
