Teaching Fellow in Cybersecurity Education (1-year fixed-term contract, Grade 6)

About us

The Department of Informatics is launching a new hybrid (online/in-person) programme, the MSc Advanced Cyber Security (SE Asia), as part of our global online degree offerings. To support the delivery of world-renowned teaching in this programme and to contribute more broadly to the excellence in education within the Department, we are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Cybersecurity Education (1-year fixed-term contract, Grade 6)

Candidates should demonstrate ambition to become scholars of international standing, with a research and publication trajectory in Computer Science Education that reflects this goal.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing department and contribute to our vision of a diverse, inclusive, and innovative Department of Informatics at one of the UK’s most prestigious universities. We welcome applicants who share our commitment to inclusivity and diversity.

We encourage applications from candidates with an international research profile in areas such as: Systems security, Security engineering, Security testing, Computer forensics, AI for security and privacy, Security and privacy of AI.

Our department addresses computer science challenges from a broad perspective. Faculty members regularly publish in and serve on the program committees of top-tier venues in computer science and cybersecurity. High-quality research establishes our faculty as leaders in their fields, enabling us to serve society while supporting King’s College London as a leading institution in science and technology.

The department also maintains strong industry links, collaborating on research projects with external partners.

The successful candidate will teach on our forthcoming transnational and hybrid Master’s programme in Advanced Cyber Security (SE Asia), starting in September 2026. While the postholder will be based in London, this hybrid programme requires the postholder to travel to Indonesia for extended periods to conduct in-person induction, teaching, and other activities on a local campus.

The postholder will enhance the education and experiences of our students, both on the transnational programme and more broadly on our on-campus undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, teaching engaging, up-to-date courses and contributing to the development of our curricula and teaching methods.

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate education (in both computer science and artificial intelligence) catering for the needs of our students and the organisations in which they will work. It is essential that applicants have the enthusiasm and commitment needed to ensure the success of these programmes.

The successful candidate will be appointed to a research group and will have the opportunity to contribute to cross-cutting hubs (see https://www.kcl.ac.uk/informatics/research/groups). Research collaboration across research groups, with departmental hubs and with other Departments in the Faculty and across the College is strongly encouraged.
