About the Role
The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is seeking to recruit a Teaching Fellow in Economics for the School of Economics.
As a Teaching Fellow, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Teaching & Learning: Plan and manage your own teaching, provide advice, and be an active member of the economics teaching team across various settings, such as small group tutorials and lectures.
- Student Support: Identify and address the learning needs of students, ensuring that teaching methods, materials, and content align with the defined learning objectives of economics courses.
- Research Contribution: Contribute to scholarly debates in economics, including writing research findings for publication in leading journals and presenting at national/international conferences.
- Collaboration & Networking: Build relationships within and outside the institution, identifying opportunities for collaboration, teaching innovations, and potential funding sources.
- Student Supervision: Supervise and provide support for undergraduate and postgraduate students, including overseeing their projects, fieldwork, and placements.
- Assessment & Decision-Making: Contribute to the collaborative assessment of student work, ensuring the diverse needs of students are met.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Economics or a closely related field. The role is suited to either:
- A teaching specialist with significant experience in delivering undergraduate courses, or
- An early career researcher aiming to gain teaching experience before pursuing further academic roles.
You will be expected to teach courses in international trade, macroeconomics, household finance, and applied microeconomics, with a focus on the BSc Hons International Economics and Trade (IET) programme, which has received the Provincial First Class Undergraduate Programme award from the Zhejiang Provincial Government.

Remuneration, Benefits, and Support
This is a fixed-term contract for one year, starting in September 2025, with an annual salary ranging from RMB 350,343 to RMB 477,481, depending on your skills and experience. Additional benefits include:
