Departmental Lecturer in Ancient History

The Faculty of Classics invites applications for two Departmental Lectureships in Ancient History. One, offered in conjunction with New College, is a one-year Departmental Lectureship to cover the teaching and other responsibilities of Professor Andrew Meadows who will be taking ERC Funded Research Leave for the academic year 2024-2025. The other, offered in conjunction with Corpus Christi College, is a one-year Departmental Lectureship to cover the teaching and other responsibilities of Dr Kathryn Stevens who will be taking Leverhulme funded Research Leave for the academic year 2024-2025.
The postholders are expected to engage in advanced study and research in any aspect of Ancient History, and to lecture and teach both undergraduate and graduate students in the field of Greek History (Corpus Christi College) and Greek (and Roman) History (New College). They will also be expected to engage in examination assessment, admissions processes, and Faculty administration.

Shortlisting is expected to take place the following week and interviews are expected to take place in the week beginning 24 June 2024.
