About the Project

The project ‘State repression and environmental violence in West Papua’ seeks to accelerate the impact of research on the subject published by the Centre for Climate Crime and Climate Justice. The project seeks to build upon the Centre’s hosting of an opinion tribunal on West Papua between the 27th-29th June. This tribunal involved the participation of over 30 civil society organisations and was held under the supervision of the Rome-based Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal. Key activities will involve collaborating with UK politicians, UN mandate holders and with human rights organisations to amplify the findings of the tribunal.
