Job Description:

Summary: The Research/Teaching Assistant will work closely with a professor to contribute to both teaching and/or research activities. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for education and research.

Essential Functions:

  • Teaching Assistance: (1) Assist in the preparation of course materials, including lecture notes, assignments, and exams. (2) Conduct tutorials, workshops, or lab sessions to support student learning. (3) Provide guidance and support to students on course-related inquiries.
  • Grading: (1) Evaluate and grade assignments, exams, and other assessments. (2) Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their understanding and performance. (3) Maintain accurate records of student grades and attendance.
  • Research Assistance: (1) Collaborate with the professor on ongoing research projects. (2) Conduct literature reviews and assist in data collection and analysis. (3) Contribute to the preparation of research publications and presentations.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist in organizing and coordinating academic events, seminars, or workshops.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Part-time. Student. 10 hours per week.

Salary Range: $17.95 - $18.50 an hour (commensurate with experience).

Required Education and Experience:

  • Good academic standing with a strong GPA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies, data analysis, and literature review.
  • Looking for candidates who have previously completed a corporate finance course—at either the undergraduate or graduate level—and demonstrated strong performance in it.
  • Previous research experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies, data analysis, and literature review.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
