Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role 

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Team Leader - Student Systems and Capability to join Tītoko - Centre for Student Success team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading the Student Systems and Capability function, including management of two specialist staff.
• Establishing and maintaining system use oversight, access standards, auditing, and documentation frameworks.
• Acting as the functional lead for Kurawai system-use standards across student-facing teams.
• Develop and maintaining training frameworks and onboarding pathways for student systems.
• Building strong working relationships with Digital Solutions, faculties, and service divisions to support system improvements and capability uplift.
• Monitor system usage and translating insights into continuous improvement initiatives and service enhancements.
• Ensuring documentation, knowledge bases, and training materials remain accurate, accessible, and aligned with system changes.

You will be a motivated and collaborative leader who enjoys working at the intersection of systems, people capability, and service improvement.

You will bring strong organisational awareness, the ability to influence across teams, and a practical approach to improving how systems support operational outcomes.

Key requirements:

• Demonstrated experience leading a systems, training, or capability-focused function within a complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of enterprise systems or CRM-style platforms and their operational use in service environments.
• Proven people leadership experience, including coaching and developing staff capability.
• Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple teams or business units. 
• Experience establishing or maintaining system access management, documentation standards, or audit processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain system concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Dynamics 365, Ellucian products, or tertiary sector systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
