About the Role

***INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY***

About the Role

The School of the Arts is looking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified Technical Facilities Coordinator for Film within the Department of Film to provide colleagues with technical support for teaching and learning, relating to practice-based work in video production.

You will be responsible for providing professional technical support to colleagues in Film, including our many students undertaking practice-based and theory-practice modules and research. You will be expected to oversee the day-to-day set-up, maintenance, ordering and management of the software, and filmmaking equipment relating to Film, as well as allocating and managing editing suites and screening rooms and other related room usage and access. You will also provide technical advice on the use of complex filmmaking equipment and moving image presentation (including studio shooting and multiscreen exhibition), up to date software and hardware, and other screening facilities, providing expert technical training and support. Furthermore, you will work closely with the Head of Film Practice to run an annual budget, handle procurement and liaise with internal and external contractors, and to guarantee compliance with relevant health and safety procedures. The post-holder will provide technical support to our film practice research community, across PhD and staff. The post also entails managing material for the department website, Film Vimeo page, producing video tutorial content, and uploading teaching materials.

This is a permanent and full-time post, starting as soon as possible. The starting salary will be Grade 5, £43,677 - £51,040 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
