Remuneration: $94,099 to $106,134 pa (HEW5) (inclusive of $79,514 to $89,685 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
Location: Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove campuses and a range of smaller offsite facilities

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Technical Officer Building Trades to join Facilities Management, Administrative Division.
The Technical Officer Building Trades is responsible for day-to-day maintenance in the building trades area and will also manage external building contractors to achieve specified project outcomes. This multi discipline position interacts with a wide range of customers across QUT, with suppliers of goods and services and with multiple external building contractors.

The Facilities Management Department within the Division of Administrative Services is responsible for managing the process of design, construction, maintenance and operation of the physical facilities, and the provision of a range of support services across the University's two main campuses at Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove and a range of smaller offsite facilities.
What you need to succeed
- Evidence of a building trade qualification with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the building trades, within a medium or large private or public organisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant building regulations, codes, standards and statutory requirements.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (i.e. climbing ladders, handling and/or lifting heavy items of equipment and working at heights). Be willing to obtain EWP, forklift and scaffold licences.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Queensland Workplace Health and Safety legislation together with experience in its application in the workplace.
- Possession of a current Queensland driver’s licence.
