Technical Program Director
Job Summary
Reporting to the Dean, the Technical Program Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining adequate systems to ensure effective operation, compliance, and student success outcomes for the assigned program located at various Tarrant County College (TCC) locations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the program
- Ensures student progression to and achievement of key competencies
- Develops, evaluates, and revises the curriculum to ensure alignment with industry standards and accreditation requirements
- Ensures continuous quality review and improvement of the educational program
- Coordinates and schedules class offerings and provides student support services
- Assesses, plans, and manages program facilities and resources
- Coordinates and participates in the development and implementation of strategic plans, student learning outcomes assessment, program reviews, and curriculum revisions
- Recommends teaching loads and supplemental responsibilities according to institutional policies; coordinates schedules
- Serves as a liaison with advisory partners, playing an active role in securing internship agreements and sites for student training
- Develops and implements strategies to ensure success of grants among all stakeholders
- Facilitates the grant funding process and serves as a liaison between college personnel and funding stakeholders
- Ensures continuous assessment of district needs for new expanded or upgraded facilities; ensures the effective management of utilized facilities; ensures compliance with governing agencies and grant funding guidelines
- Ensures compliance with all accreditation standards and institutional policies
- Coordinates compliance, reporting, and implementation of grant funding
- Provides division support for the assigned program and support staff
Service Excellence
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the Essential Performance Requirements
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the work site
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Dean

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Three (3) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one (1) year's working experience performing the essential performance requirements in a higher education environment
- At least one (1) year's working experience with any of the TCC workforce programs
- At least one (1) year's working experience with employment offices or workforce placement programs
- At least two (2) year's working experience as part of a film crew in lighting, camera, sound, costumes, make-up, set building or related field within the film industry
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of higher education policies, principles, trends, and organizations
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
- Skilled in oral, electronic, and written communications
- Skilled using electronic applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Ability to perform self-assessments

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
