Advertisement for the technical staff positions for an ICMR-funded research project in the School of Social Sciences, MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore.

Applications are invited for the following positions for the project entitled “The Impact of Positive Aging Intervention on Flourishing of Elderly in India: A Pan-India Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial” funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). This project is administered by academics from the School of Social Sciences, MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore. The details are as follows:

Job Description for Project Technical Staff III:

  • Reporting to: Principal Investigator
  • Job Summary: The Project Technical Staff III is a key member of the intervention program team responsible for overseeing and managing the implementation of the program for elderly individuals in various cities. The role involves supervising a team of office technical support, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of program activities, and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Team Supervision: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of office technical support. Conduct and supervise interventions conducted in the study sites. Conduct regular team meetings to discuss program progress, challenges, and solutions.
    • Program Monitoring: Develop and implement a monitoring plan to assess the effectiveness of the intervention program. Review and analyze field reports submitted by office technical support, identifying areas for improvement.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with community leaders, healthcare professionals, and program beneficiaries. Address concerns and feedback from stakeholders to ensure a positive relationship.
    • Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions for office technical support to enhance their skills. Provide ongoing support and guidance to facilitate professional development within the team.
    • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the program adheres to established standards. Conduct periodic assessments to identify and address any deviations from program guidelines.
    • Data Collection and Analysis: Oversee the collection of data on program activities and outcomes. Analyze data to generate insights and recommendations for program improvement. Conduct personal interviews and focus group interviews on the study sites.
  • Job Duration: Full-time position with an initial contract term of 1 year, subject to renewal for the next year based on performance and project requirements.

Job Description for Senior Project Assistant:

  • Reporting to: Principal Investigator
  • Job Summary: The senior project assistant plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the intervention program for elderly individuals in various cities. This position involves providing leadership to a team of Senior Investigators, ensuring effective program implementation, and serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Team Management: Supervise and provide leadership to a team of Project Technical Staff III stationed in various cities. Conduct regular team meetings to discuss program progress, challenges, and strategize for optimal outcomes.
    • Program Oversight: Ensure the successful implementation of the intervention program in accordance with established guidelines. Monitor and evaluate the performance of Senior Investigators, providing guidance and support as needed.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster positive relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and program partners. Address stakeholder concerns and coordinate efforts to align program activities with community needs.
    • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and utilisation of resources, including budgetary allocations for the program in various cities. Ensure efficient and effective use of resources to meet program objectives.
    • Reporting and Documentation: Receive regular reports from Senior Investigators and compile comprehensive reports on program activities and outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation of program data, achievements, and challenges.
  • Job Duration: Full-time position with an initial contract term of 1 year, subject to renewal for the next year based on performance and project requirements.

Job Description for Office Technical Support:

  • Reporting to: Project Technical Staff
  • Job Summary: Office technical support plays a crucial role in the successful execution of the intervention program for elderly individuals in various cities. This position involves implementing program activities in the field, collecting relevant data, engaging with program beneficiaries, and ensuring adherence to program guidelines.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Program Execution: Implement intervention program activities as outlined in the program guidelines. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of services to elderly individuals in the designated area.
    • Data Collection: Collect relevant data on program activities, participant demographics, and feedback. Submit detailed and accurate field reports to the Senior Investigator in a timely manner.
    • Community Engagement: Engage with program beneficiaries and community members in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner. Address concerns or queries from beneficiaries, reporting significant issues to the Senior Investigator.
    • Adherence to Guidelines: Strictly adhere to program guidelines and protocols during the execution of activities. Seek guidance from the Senior Investigator when faced with ambiguous situations.
    • Feedback and Improvement: Provide constructive feedback on program activities and suggest improvements for enhanced effectiveness. Participate in team meetings and training sessions facilitated by the Senior Investigator.
    • Reporting: Submit regular and ad-hoc reports to the Senior Investigator, detailing progress, challenges, and any deviations from the program plan.
  • Job Duration: Full-time position with an initial contract term of 1 year, subject to renewal for the next year based on performance and project requirements.
