Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Technical Support Officer - Equipment Loan Centre to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice.
The Technical Support Officer works within the technical team to provide support of the Faculty's academic endeavours. The role is responsible for the effective, safe and sustainable operation of technical equipment and facilities managed by the equipment loan centres. The incumbent will maintain awareness of current and emerging support requirements and will contribute to the continual improvement of technical services supporting the Faculty’s Research and Learning and Teaching programs. The Technical Support Officer will be required to work in collaboration with other technical staff to provide an integrated and highly responsive support service which ensures that students have the benefit of a high quality learning experience. This position reports to the Supervising Technician - Equipment Loans Centre for career planning, development, and performance expectations.

The faculty is comprised of the following Schools under the leadership of the respective Head of School: • School of Communication • School of Creative Arts • School of Design • School of Early Childhood and Inclusive Education • School of Teacher Education and Leadership • School of Justice.
What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of an associate diploma in related field; certificate level qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, or training.
- Interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively connect and collaborate with colleagues and work in teams.
- Ability to embrace and participate in change and under direction effectively organise and prioritise work in order to meet deadlines and competing priorities, without compromising quality in a technical environment.
- Proven customer service skills that demonstrate experience in interacting with a diverse range of clients.
- Ability to apply relevant industry experience in a learning environment, with a sound knowledge of the operation of production equipment across the Creative Industries disciplines.
- Demonstrated Experience in troubleshooting and first line maintenance of technical equipment for the Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice Faculty.
