Job Description

The Centre for Sleep and Cognition studies the effects of sleep and sleep deprivation on cognition using electroencephalography (EEG) techniques, wearable devices and smartphones as well as questionnaires and computer-based behavioral tests. The Tech Support Specialist will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team conducting translational research with important implications for health and wellness.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support over phone for wearable devices and mobile apps used across different research projects
  • Online monitoring of incoming data streams from wearables
  • Inform different project teams of data compliance or quality issues
  • Train and assist different project teams in online monitoring of wearable data streams
  • Maintain inventory log of wearable devices
  • Prepare research accounts for wearable devices
  • Assist in procurement of wearable devices

Qualifications

  • Diploma in any scientific discipline
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, comfortable interacting with participants (adolescents, young adults, older adults).
  • Able to converse fluently in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint.)
  • Able to work as part of a team, multi-task and pay attention to detail.
  • Prior experience/interest in consumer wearable devices is a plus, but on-the-job training will be provided.
