Job SummaryThe Technology Support Specialist III serves a critical role in managing and maintaining computing infrastructure across Georgia College & State University. This position provides leadership in implementing, upgrading, and maintaining computing endpoint systems used by faculty, staff, and students, with a primary focus on leveraging Microsoft Intune for modern device management, configuration profiles, and software deployment. Working collaboratively with other technical team members, the position gathers insights to continuously improve technological processes. Operating with limited direct supervision, the specialist provides direct, timely technical support to ensure smooth access to information and instructional resources across campus locations. This role is essential in maintaining the technological ecosystem supporting the college's academic and administrative functions.
ResponsibilitiesEndpoint Management - 50%
Utilize Microsoft Intune and Jamf to perform device management,
troubleshoot software/hardware issues, and apply rapid fixes with
precision and efficiency.
Demonstrate problem-solving capabilities with functional knowledge
of Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems.
Primary support specialist for Windows based computer labs.
Support Tool Management - 20%
Serves as team specialist for designing and implementing
comprehensive device management strategies, leveraging Microsoft
Intune to automate the end-to-end lifecycle, including
provisioning, configuring, patching, and ensuring compliance across
all endpoints
Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of a wide range of
applications and systems operating within the campus
ecosystem.
Maintain ITSM system incident records in accordance with GCSU IT
standards.
Customer Service - 20%
Provide comprehensive end-user technical support through multiple
channels, including in-person assistance, remote device management,
and telephone support.
Apply standard technical concepts, practices, and procedures to
address user questions and technical challenges.
Deliver exceptional customer service when supporting individuals
from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels.

Mentorship - 5%
Train and mentor other staff members and student assistants on best
practices for endpoint management and troubleshooting.
Other - 5%
Weekend or evening hours may be required when campus activities or
critical updates dictate.

Educational Requirements
Associate's degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a
related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training,
and experience.
Required Experience
Four (4) years of relevant IT support experience.
Preferred Educational
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or
other related field
Preferred Experience
4+ years working with both Windows and Mac endpoints focusing on
endpoint deployment using Intune and Jamf as well as other service
tools such as Cortex, CrashPlan, GoToResolve, TeamDynamix,
LanSchool, LabStats, etc.
Skilled with Omnissa Horizon formerly known as VMWare Horizon View
for configuring and deploying virtual machines.
This position is a pay grade 8. The available salary range is $47,476 to $69,081. Starting salary within this range is based on relevant years of experience.
