Your Role on the Team
The Academic Support Coordinator provides direct support to students through academic advising and the coordination of programs that promote academic success. This role also assists with planning workshops and seminars, managing purchasing needs through the Kuali Financial System (KFS), and collaborating with staff across the entire department.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Advise and support students on academic progress, success strategies, and university resources.
- Coordinate and facilitate student workshops, seminars, and academic support programs.
- Assist with event planning, logistics, and scheduling for meetings and departmental activities.
- Support administrative functions such as report creation, taking meeting minutes, and processing purchases.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required:
- Experience in higher education, academic advising, and event planning.
- Strong administrative support skills, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and preparing reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Google Drive.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with the UC system and university administrative processes.
- Experience using Kuali Financial System (KFS) or similar purchasing systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a student-centered environment.
