Temporary Children, Youth, & Pre-Collegiate (CYP) Operations Assistant (Summer Programs)
Job Summary
RISD Continuing Education seeks an Operations Assistant to support summer program operations for its teen and pre-collegiate audiences. This role supports the summer operations team, coordinating facilities and programmatic needs for instructors, teaching assistants, and students. This position liaises with campus partners, families, and the Pre-College Summer Office staff to support students during academic class time.

Essential Functions
Before program
- Assist Operations staff with room checks to verify readiness for program start.
- Assist with placing informational and wayfinding signage.
- Attend and staff Pre-College Check-In Day to assist students and their families upon arrival.
- Support pre-program setup needs and logistical errands
During program
- Participate in PC Check-In Day (falls on a Saturday)
- Collaborate closely with CE Operations Specialist and Pre-College Operations Manager to ensure day-to-day classroom needs are fulfilled. Complete tasks as assigned which may include: work orders, updating signage, asset delivery, print requests, space research etc.
- Run errands for the Operations and/or CYP staff as requested.
- Staff the exhibitions and closing events, such as artwork drop-off and pickup, as assigned. Assist in preparations for exhibitions, including label creation.
- Monitor communication channels in Slack and keep in communication with supervisor and/or CYP staff.
- Serve as a substitute teaching assistant in Pre-College and teen classes when needed
- Provide additional coverage for the Design Center and/or Teen In-Person Operations Assistant when needed.
- Support Fall preparations for Teen In Person courses including, which may include supply and space preparations, inventorying, instructor communication, and other logistics.
After program
- Assist Operations staff with room checks, clearing out left behind artwork and materials, and checking whether facilities need to service a room.
- Assist with other post-program cleanup and follow-up tasks.
- Provide feedback in debrief meetings.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience working with databases and proficiency with the technology required, with preference given to experience with 25Live, Workday, Destiny Solutions, or an equivalent SIS.
- Must be innovative and solution-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse population of students, instructors, and staff.
- Creativity, flexibility, and broad cultural experiences and personal warmth are essential.
- The ability to travel to off-site locations.
- Must be available to work fully contracted time.
- Please note that this role may include physically moving items from one building to another and/or frequently walking around campus based on daily needs and program requests.
