Job Summary
The Department of Curriculum, Foundations, and Reading is now accepting applications for a pool of part time instructors for the 2026-2027 academic year. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses for BSED programs or graduate courses for MAT, MEd, EdS, or EdD programs.
- Teach courses in one or more of the following areas based on qualifications:
- Educational Psychology (EDUF)
- Educational Research (EDUR)
- Reading/Literacy Education (READ)
- Social Foundations of Education (EDUC and EDUF)
- Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities:
- EDUC: course needs are face-to-face
- EDUF: course needs are either online or face-to-face
- EDUR: course needs are online
- READ: course needs are either online or face-to-face
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Earned master's degree in education (for courses at 2000-5000 level) or doctoral degree in education (for courses at 6000 level or above). Earned degree must be in Educational Psychology, Educational Research, Literacy Education, Reading, Social Foundations of Education, or a closely related field.
- Completion of at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in one of the following areas: Educational Psychology, Educational Research, Literacy Education, Reading, Social Foundations of Education, or a closely related field.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
- Willingness and ability to teach in the modality of assigned courses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience in higher education.
- Expertise in at least one or more of the following areas: assessment, human development, introductory statistics, learning theory, motivation, research methods, social foundations of education, or reading/literacy education.
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience.
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
