Position Title: Temporary Lecturer
Salary Range: A reasonable salary range estimate for this position is $68,247-$74,577.
The posted UC academic salary scales: UCOP Academic Salary Scales determine the minimum pay by rank and/or step at appointment.

Position Description
The Department of Theatre and Dance, within the School of Arts & Humanities at UC San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are seeking applicants for temporary lecturer position(s) in theatre and dance disciplines. Appointment(s) may be for one or more quarters based on the teaching needs of the department and funding availability.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Commitment of 10 weeks of teaching per course.
Demonstration of ability to teach undergraduate students and/or teach and advise graduate students.
Creation of course syllabi with student assignments.
Completion of grading through the e-Grades system.
Completion of Student Certification for the Commencement of Academic Activities.
Provide at least two office hours per week, per course to students for additional support (office hours can be provided remotely).
Applications will be reviewed periodically as teaching needs arise.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required at Time of Application)
Qualified candidates will possess an MFA (or 3-5 years of professional experience).
Professional experience includes consistent employment in the appropriate discipline.
Examples of professional experience may include work in:
Resident and regional theaters
Operas
Concert halls
Cinema
Museums
Galleries
Festivals
National theaters
Corporate events
Cultural and/or community-centered venues
International institutions
Commercial theaters, including Broadway and Off-Broadway
Qualified candidates will have at least three years of teaching experience or specialized field expertise in the theatre or dance discipline with strong demonstrated accomplishments.
Examples of demonstrated accomplishments include (but are not limited to):
Positive teaching/mentoring evaluations
Student support letters
Peer/professional reviews
Artist residencies
Peer-reviewed publications
Creative research endeavors
Applicable grants/awards/honors/nominations
