Job Summary/Basic Function
The department of Computer Science is accepting applications for part-time instructor responsible for teaching undergraduate computer science courses on an as-needed basis. The Computer Science Department at times needs temporary part-time Instructors to fill in for faculty on sabbaticals or leaves.
The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool of qualified faculty. Applications submitted will be reviewed on an as needed basis based on enrollment. Anyone meeting the qualifications may be contacted for an interview and potentially hired when a need exists. In the event that you are interviewed but not immediately hired, your application will remain in the departments pool of qualified faculty.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or closely-related discipline.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science (or closely-related discipline) or extensive industry experience in programming or software engineering.
- Course work in computer science beyond the level of the course being taught.
- Evidence of ability to successfully teach diverse student populations.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Commitment to inclusive practices and working with diverse student populations.
- Successful interview.
- Successful teaching demonstration for class teaching assignments.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science (or closely-related discipline).
- Prior college-level teaching experience.
