(Temporary, Part-time, Hiring Pool) Community & Contract Education Facilitators
Description of Basic Functions and Responsibilities
Successful candidate will facilitate classes or implement trainings for Shasta College not-for-credit, fee-based programming. These facilitators independently run classes on a wide variety of topics that benefit our community. The community services program shall be designed to contribute to the physical, mental, moral, economic or civic development of the individuals or groups enrolled in it and shall be open for admission to adults and to minors who can benefit from the programs.
CLASSIFICATION: Employment on the Short-term and Temporary Employee Salary Schedule or Independent Contractor (must meet criteria as specified by the IRS to qualify as independent contractor)
SUPERVISOR: Project Coordinator of Community and Contract Education or designee
Typical Duties, Knowledge and Ability
- Plans, organizes, and implements course experiences and operations.
- Uses email and phone to effectively communicate with Shasta College staff
- Manages course registrants and uses the course registration system to communicate with students
- Helps aid in grass roots marketing of courses offered to ensure minimum enrollment is met
- Adheres to all Shasta College processes and procedures such as: waiver forms, LiveScan, timecards, invoicing, etc.
- Takes appropriate attendance for all classes to ensure that all attendees are appropriately registered
- Helps facilitate course evaluations at the end of the course experience
- Submits all appropriate information about courses in a timely manner to ensure it is published in our print catalog and online

This is a hiring pool for Community and Contract Education facilitators. We look for individuals that can benefit our whole community of lifelong learners as well as highly qualified business trainers. Examples of programming can be found here.
