The Opportunity
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting qualitative data collection and analysis.
- Assisting with the development of social media content and visual materials to disseminate research findings to diverse audiences.
- Helping to craft public-facing messages that communicate research to both academic and community stakeholders.
- Maintaining research article databases.
- Providing organizational support for meetings and events.
This is a six (6) months, non-benefits eligible, casual position with the possibility of renewal depending upon satisfactory job performance and funding availability. Work schedule is flexible but will not exceed 19 hours per week. Regular hours will be established collaboratively between the hire and supervisor.
Pay: $24.00/ hour
Candidates may physically reside anywhere within the U.S. The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and with holdings for this position. Additional individual state income tax filings may also be required if working outside New York State.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree and up to 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination.
- Interest in climate change, aging, and public health topics
- Excellent written communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience coordinating events or meetings in academic or community settings
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with qualitative research methods and data analysis.
- Experience with social media outreach (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).
- Familiarity with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience working with communities in NYS and knowledge of NYS regional dynamics.
