Temporary Research Assistant (Department of Social Work)

Job Description

To assist Principle Investigator (PI) with implementation of a granted research project, particularly with administrative matters, data collection, data cleaning, and data analysis. Duties and responsibilities include

  • Clean, organise, and manage quantitative datasets
  • Conduct data analyses, including Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), using one or more of the following software: SPSS/AMOS, STATA, R, or Mplus
  • Use Qualtrics to support survey setup and administration
  • Liaise with an external survey company and monitor data collection progress
  • Coordinate participant payment administration
  • Conduct literature searches and assist with research background materials
  • Draft project documentation, including annual reports and the final report to the funder
  • Support research administration, including ethics application-related tasks where needed
  • Perform other project-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a social science – psychology major preferred
  • Strong quantitative research skills
  • Familiarity with SEM and statistical analysis software
  • Prior research experience, including exposure to research ethics applications, is preferred
