Job Description
To build a numerical simulator for the Bicycle Bivariate (BB) good q-LDPC code.
The hired staff will complete remaining tasks leftover from their NUS Physics Final-Year Project on the same topic.
The staff will build a numerical simulator for the BB code, incorporating the simulator into the existing code simulation infrastructure within the group of HK Ng at CQT.
Specific tasks to be completed in the three months:
- Speed up existing code with decoding algorithm BP-OSD, converting it to C++ and optimizing the code performance, possibly incorporating optimizations/specializations to the [[144,12,12]] code.
- Explore the possibility of applying the “fail-fast” technique to simulating the BB code within our simulator, for accurate estimating of the logical error rates for high-distance codes.
- (Time permitting) Explore performance of BB code under general noise.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Physics and/or computing. Quantum computing knowledge, with direct experience in building numerical stabilizer simulator for BB codes. Strong coding ability (e.g., Python, C++).
