Duties include:

• Making crosses in the field
• Selfing cotton flowers in the field
• Harvesting, ginning and acid delinting cotton samples
• Seed preparation for storage
• Planting and helping to grow plants in the greenhouse and fields
• Perform day-to-day activities of greenhouse care and maintenance
• Assist post docs, grad students and research specialist while collecting phenotypic data and tissue samples from the greenhouses and cotton fields
• Perform lab based analyses including DNA isolation

Department Required Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative research environment; Must be computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic data entry tools

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education: BS in Plant Sciences, Agriculture, Biology or related field; Background in plant care, with experience in general biology and/or agricultural

Required License or Certification: Valid driver’s license
