Temporary Summer Landscape Workers

General Information
James Madison University's Facilities Management Department is accepting applications for multiple Temporary Summer Landscape Workers. Work is 20-40 hours per week starting as early as May 4th and going as late as August 21st, 2026. Typical work schedule is Monday - Thursday 6:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Friday 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., with some flexibility allowed. 14/15 year old employees will not work more than 8 hours in one day starting at 7:00 a.m.
Duties and Responsibilities
General landscape duties include weed-eating, watering, weeding, planting, mulching, trimming and possibly turf maintenance.
Assigned duties will depend on employee's age.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work predominately outdoors in extreme weather temperatures and conditions.
- Must be 14 years of age or older as of the start date.
- Landscape experience is helpful but not necessary.
