"Professor (f/m/d) for "Sustainable Material Process Engineering""

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is seeking to fill the position of Professor (f/m/d) for “Sustainable Materials Process Engineering” in salary group W2 Tenure Track Assistant Professor (with tenure track to W3) or W3 Associate/Full Professor as soon as possible.

Scientific environment

The professorship will be assigned to the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability (TUMCS) and will be integrated into the scientific environment of process engineering, bio-based materials science, bioprocess engineering and the interdisciplinary environment of the bioeconomy. Further cooperation opportunities can be developed with working groups at the TUM School of Engineering and Design and the Munich Institute for Integrated Materials, Energy and Process Engineering (MEP).

Tasks

The tasks include research and teaching as well as the supervision and promotion of young scientists. We are looking for an expert in the research area of ​​sustainable material process technology with a focus on industrial manufacturing processes for various materials, closing cycles through technical recycling processes or the availability of material resources in a circular economy. The teaching tasks include participation in the Bachelor's and Master's programs at TUM, in particular in the programs Technology of Biogenic Raw Materials, Chemical Biotechnology and Biogenic Materials. 

Qualifications

We are looking for a personality who can demonstrate outstanding achievements, in accordance with the relevant career level, in research and teaching in an internationally recognized scientific environment (further information at www.tum.de/faq-berufungen/ ).

A university degree, an above-average doctorate or a comparable special ability for scientific work and special pedagogical aptitude are also prerequisites. International research experience is expected. Management experience, experience in industry and proven ability to acquire and manage cooperative research projects are desirable.
