Minimum Qualifications: Must possess necessary licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment. Must possess a valid Vehicle Operator's License. Commercial Driver's License endorsement is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.

Essential Job Functions: Maintains the cleanliness/readiness of the rental fleet. This includes conducting several daily inspections of the vehicles-consisting of removing trash, checking all fluid levels, fueling and re-fueling, inspecting tires, and washing/vacuuming if needed. Notifies shop supervisor of any defects found. Operates the fueling facility maintaining both the inventory of the diesel and gasoline storage tanks. Monitors the leak detection system conducting required state inspections. Keeps the facility in a clean and safe operational manner. Assists the parts manager in restocking the warehouse, makes trips to local and out of town parts houses to obtain parts or pick up major items needed on an emergency basic, i.e. motors, generators, or body panels. This position will provide coverage in the event of a lengthy absence/emergency to the Motor Pool Administrative Assistant and Motor Pool Parts Manager, must be cross-trained.

Preferred Qualifications: Sufficient experience to operate assigned vehicles or equipment.

Work Schedule/Hours: Primary hours are within the following time frame: 7:00am - 4:00pm; Monday through Friday. Schedule is subject to change to meet Motor Pool requirements. Employee is subject to emergency call-back due to equipment breakdowns, bad weather, etc. This position is considered Critical/Essential and is expected to be available to work during University emergencies, closures and adverse weather conditions.
