Position Description

The Temporary Summer Groundskeeper assists with maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of outdoor grounds and landscaped areas during the summer months. This position supports routine grounds maintenance, landscaping projects, and preparation of outdoor areas for regular use. The role requires physical labor, outdoor work in varying weather conditions, and the ability to follow established procedures.

Major/Essential Functions

Mow, edge, and trim lawns, fields, and landscaped areas
Assist with planting, watering, weeding, pruning, and mulching
Remove debris, litter, and fallen branches from grounds and walkways
Maintain sidewalks, parking lots, fences, and outdoor structures
Operate groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools
Follow safety guidelines for equipment use and chemical application
Report hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance concerns to supervisors

Required Qualifications

Ability to work outdoors and follow simple written and verbal instructions; position is reserved for LISD Intern students, summer work only.
