Tenure-Stream Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Applied Mathematics, anticipated to begin fall semester 2026. We seek candidates with expertise in two or more of the following areas: mathematical modeling, computational mathematics, and stochastic processes. Completion of the Ph.D. is required prior to or shortly after the date of hire.
The successful candidate will enhance our advanced undergraduate applied mathematics courses, create research opportunities for senior students, and support introductory-level offerings. They will collaborate with colleagues to refine the applied mathematics curriculum, contribute to the department's research profile, and participate in Colgate's Liberal Arts Core Curriculum and other university-wide initiatives.

Salary Range or Pay Grade
The starting salary for this position is $94,800 for ABD candidates and $98,800 for candidates with a PhD in hand.

At least two letters should describe the research skills of the candidate, and at least one should describe the teaching skills of the candidate in detail.
