Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534426), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

We are seeking emerging scholars whose work advances the understanding and treatment of psychiatric disorders and improves mental and physical health outcomes. We welcome applicants from psychiatry and related fields, including psychiatric epidemiology, digital mental health, artificial intelligence and machine learning in mental health, big data analytics, and pharmacoepidemiology. Applicants who adopt multidisciplinary approaches to address key challenges in psychiatry and mental health are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants should possess:

• (i) a Ph.D. degree in psychiatry, psychology, public health, population health, data science, epidemiology, or a related discipline;
• (ii) a proven track record of impactful research, publications, external grants and leadership; and
• (iii) experience in teaching or mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of psychiatry.

The appointee is expected to conduct independent and collaborative research of high academic merit, and secure competitive external research funding to maintain an active research programme. He/She will contribute to teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and supervise research postgraduate students. He/She will also undertake administrative and service duties as assigned. The Department offers a vibrant, collaborative environment with strong links to clinical services, community partners, and international research networks. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
