The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences at The Citadel, located in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, invites applications for a full-time, 9-month faculty position at the rank of Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Instructor, with a start date of January 2026 or August 2026.

About the Department
The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences includes 7 full-time and 7 adjunct faculty members. It offers:
- Undergraduate degrees in:
- B.S. in Computer Science, with concentrations in: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Science
- B.S. in Cyber Operations
- Graduate degrees and certificates in: M.S. in Computer and Information Sciences (joint with College of Charleston), Cybersecurity and Software Engineering (Graduate Certificates)
- Undergraduate minors in: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cyber Interdisciplinary Studies, Data Science, Computer Programming
Facilities & Designations
The department hosts cutting-edge resources including: Cyber Lab, Cyber Range, Citadel Security Operations Center (C-SOC), Malware Analysis and Detection (MAD) Lab, Critical Infrastructure Hands-on Access Control and IoT Security (CHARIoTS) Lab, Machine Intelligence and Data Analysis Systems (MIDAS) Lab, Research on Aerial Defense in Unmanned Systems (RADIUS) Lab. Since 2016, The Citadel has been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency (NSA).
Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: Teaching undergraduate courses in cyber operations and computer science, Teaching graduate courses in computer and information sciences or cybersecurity (Assistant Professor), Typical teaching load: 12 contact hours/week (Assistant Professor), 15 hours/week (Instructor), Student advising, scholarly activity, and service to the institution. The Citadel supports faculty development with internal funding for research, travel, and professional growth.
Qualifications
For T tenure-Track Assistant Professor: Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, or closely related field (Required), Strong aptitude for teaching in Cyber Operations (Required), Engage students in scholarly research (Required), Ability to teach core computer science courses (Preferred).
For Instructor: Master's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, or closely related field (Required), Strong aptitude for teaching in Cyber Operations (Required), Ability to teach core computer science courses (Preferred).
