Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Iwate University Faculty of Science and Engineering invites applications for a full-time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position for Woman. This call for applications seeks candidates capable of promoting advanced research in the following chemistry-based fields: bio-related chemistry, chemical biology, nanobioscience, biomaterials science, and fundamental physical chemistry dealing with bio-related substances. This call is also seeking candidates who can teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate students and contribute to organizational operations in cooperation with other Chemistry Course members. After being hired, the successful candidate will engage in education and research related to biomolecules in collaboration with a faculty member in the Laboratory of Biofunctional Chemistry.
Work content and job description
1) Research on bio-related molecules in the Laboratory of Biofunctional Chemistry, and teach and supervision graduate and undergraduate students (see below for the Subjects to Teach)
2) Operations related to the organization, graduate and undergraduate programs

- Compensation: Annual salary: 5 million yen - 7 million yen
- Wages description: Based on the salary regulations of Iwate University and subject to annual salary system (Retirement allowance is paid at the time of retirement.)

- Holidays: Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, etc.

- Contract period description: 5 years. Please note that an interim evaluation will be conducted by the day at which point three years will have passed from the date of employment, and a tenure review will be conducted by six months prior to the expiration date of the tenure-track faculty member's term. Tenure (assistant professor, tenure) will be granted if target values required for granting tenure have been met during the term. In the case of a particularly outstanding evaluation in the interim evaluation, the eligibility for granting tenure may be discussed at that time.
