Tenure-Track Faculty Position in AI Applied to Oral Health

The Department of stomatology of Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Dentistry is recognized for its excellence in training, research, and innovation in the field of oral health. It stands out for its interdisciplinary collaborations among researchers from various disciplines.
In collaboration with several renowned research centers (e.g., CHUM, CHU Sainte-Justine, Mila, IVADO, CRIUGM), the recruited individual will play a central role in the development and integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in craniofacial health, as well as in any field that can improve treatments and advance research in oral health. These fields include, but are not limited to, the use of artificial intelligence for image analysis, refinement of diagnostics, optimization of prognostics, surface design, new materials or active molecules, and digital dentistry.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Through your undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and your research activities, you will contribute to the faculty’s pursuit of excellence. Furthermore, you will promote your discipline and actively participate in the daily activities of a renowned institution. As such, you will:
- Develop an innovative and internationally competitive research program in AI applied to oral health;
- Develop collaborative projects with the research community in fundamental and clinical sciences within the Faculty of Dentistry and other partner organizations;
- Contribute to the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and graduate students;
- Promote your discipline and advance the research excellence of the Department and the Faculty, for example by publishing in high-impact journals;
- Actively contribute to institutional activities and visibility, notably by serving on faculty committees and taking responsibility for academic programs or faculty projects.
Qualifications
- Hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in a relevant field;
- Demonstrate proven experience in AI applied to dentistry or medicine;
- Have expertise in image analysis, 3D modeling, integration of technologies in clinical research, or AI-based diagnostic tools;
- Demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality university-level teaching;
- Demonstrate potential to develop internal, national, and international collaborations;
- Demonstrate potential to supervise graduate students;
- Have the ability to work as part of a team in an interdisciplinary context and in complementarity with the faculty members;
- Have adequate proficiency of the French language or be committed to learning it once hired, through the Université de Montréal’s French language support program, in accordance with the Université de Montréal language policy.
