Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, set up jointly by Shanghai AI Laboratory and The Chinese University of Hong Kong(CUHK) seeks exceptional scholars in general areas of Artificial Intelligence from around the world.

Tenure-track faculty positions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong are:

• Chair Professor
• Full Professor
• Associate Professor
• Assistant Professor

Research Fields:

1. Frontier Basic Theory of Artificial Intelligence
2. AI Systems
   Include: artificial intelligence operating systems, computational compilation frameworks, generic chip IPs, artificial intelligence sensors, etc.
3. AI Technologies
   Include: computer vision, decision intelligence, mixed reality, natural language processing, voice, robotics, etc.
4. AI Applications
   Include: smart medical care, Artificial Intelligence education, smart city planning, smart cultural tourism, smart transportation, etc.
5. AI Platforms
   Include: open-source platforms, data platforms, supercomputer platforms, etc.
6. Social Science
   Include: Ethics and Policy, Psychology, AI driven Finances, etc.
7. Science Studies
   Include: statistics, optimization, applied mathematics, medicine and other related areas.

ABOUT SHANGHAI ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE LABORATORY
The Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (Laboratory) was officially unveiled at the World AI Conference (WAIC) in July 2020 and positioned as a national-level new-type research institute. Gathering top talents from around the world and creating a stimulating and collaborative research environment, the Laboratory aims to conduct original and influential research, make fundamental contributions to basic theories, significantly advance the state of the art, and create remarkable impact on industry, healthcare, and education.

ABOUT INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH INSTITUTE
The Laboratory stretches its impacts to the Greater Bay Area by setting up the Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IAIRI) jointly with the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in early 2021. The Institute is supported by Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Medicine of CUHK. The newly established Laboratory and Institute are seeking outstanding academics in emerging fields with potential for scientific and scholarly breakthroughs through active research and strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students. Positions are open in Shanghai AI Laboratory or CUHK at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or full Professor on tenure-track or with direct tenure.
