Description
Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.
The Faculty of Nursing is seeking two outstanding scholars for tenure-track positions. Appointments may be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank, with a strategic preference for candidates at the Associate Professor level to support current rank distribution and anticipated senior retirements.
We are interested in doctoral-prepared faculty members who bring expertise in research, teaching, and academic citizenship. The Faculty is particularly interested in scholars whose research programs align with one or more of the following areas: Acute Care, Women's Health, or advanced nursing practice in Neonatal health. Candidates who maintain Nurse Practitioner registration are especially welcome to apply.

Responsibilities
Academic Faculty members are scholars active in teaching, research, and service. Depending on rank and career stage, incumbents will be developing or sustaining programs of research, supervising graduate students, teaching in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, and contributing to Faculty, University and community service.
The typical workload for a Tenure Track Faculty Member is: Teaching (40%), Research (40%) and Service (20%).
Priorities in the Faculty of Nursing include excellence in student learning, strong research and mentorship environments, integration of teaching, research and practice, global and community engagement, and advancing Access, Community and Belonging in academic nursing.
Qualifications
As a qualified applicant, you hold a PhD, have an identified research focus, and demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and academic citizenship.
Interested candidates must have:
- PhD in Nursing (or a related discipline).
- Current registration or eligibility for registration as a nurse with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- An identified program of research and evidence of scholarly productivity
- Demonstrated potential for success in peer-reviewed grant funding.
- Commitment to teaching excellence and supervision of undergraduate honors students, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Preferred qualifications and assets include:
- Postdoctoral training or equivalent advanced research experience
- Methodological expertise in implementation science, intervention development and evaluation
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with CRNA as a Nurse Practitioner is a strong preference
- Bilingual fluency (French/English)

- A statement describing your current research program and short- and long-term research goals. Please include: key areas of focus and anticipated impact, funding strategy and partnership plans (where applicable), trainee supervision and mentorship approach, plans for building and sustaining a productive and inclusive research environment, how you will support equitable opportunities and career development for trainees and team members. You may include up to three recent peer-reviewed publications most relevant to your research program.
- Teaching Dossier Teaching Philosophy (maximum 3 pages)
- A statement describing your approach to teaching and learning, including how you support learner engagement, inclusivity, and diverse learning needs across undergraduate and/or graduate education. Please address approaches such as active and experiential learning, supervision and mentorship, and preparation of learners for professional and scholarly practice.
- Evidence of Teaching Effectiveness Examples may include teaching training, teaching assistantships, courses taught, guest lecturing, supervision experience, recent course evaluations (if available), and sample syllabi, learning activities, or instructional materials where appropriate.
