Tenure-track or Tenured Positions – Mechanical Engineering / Material Science and Engineering

The University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University (UM-SJTU) Joint Institute invites applications for tenure-track or tenured positions at all levels (Assistant, Associate, and Full) in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, or a closely related field. All related areas will be considered while the Joint Institute particularly seek strong candidates in the areas of Manufacturing and Robotics. Applicants must hold a doctorate degree in a relevant field. The candidates are expected to establish vigorous research programs and contribute to undergraduate and graduate education. Salaries are highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The UM-SJTU Joint Institute receives strong support from both partner universities and the Chinese government. It offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and related fields. Its ME program is the first ABET accredited mechanical engineering program in the mainland of China, and its students are among China’s best.
